Dishonorable Mentions…

Recently, my mother and I went on a shopping outing. After visiting a few stores, we made our way back to the car. I walked at a steady pace until my right foot clung to the ground. With force, I pulled it up in a molasses-like manner…Ecccckkkk!!!Yes, someone decided the parking lot was an appropriate place to dispose of their gum!

Unfortunately, that is a comparatively regular thing. However, as we nearly reached the car, a splatter of a wet substance hit my shoulder. I immediately looked to the sky and there was not a single cloud, only a single bird…and yes, it found it appropriate to empty the work of its kidneys on my shoulder, great!

I was completely disgusted, why do these things always happen to me?

Outdoor Living?

This Idependence Day, the Huffman girls and the Gray family will venture out on a camping excursion. And yes, you did read that right, the words Huffman and camping were in the same sentence, however humorous it may sound. My family does not camp, in fact my only experience was sleeping in a tent propped up on a hill, laying on roots, rain pouring down and seeping into the tent, and a random dog howling all night outside the tent. It was a glorious experience to say the least…

None the less, this trip should be a blast. Amenities include swimming, paddle boating, hiking, drive in movies, and lots of fun and laughs! It will be very interesting and hopefully I will gain a better opinion of living in the Great Outdoors!

Blissful Moment

I am proud to announce that the number one hundred graced my paper today. Ahhhh, what I wonderful day its been, now only if it weren’t so hot. Well, rarely do I have a day with nothing to do, and since I finished my book yesterday…what should I do? Oh, for a minute I thought of endless possibilities, but now I remember the ten pages of piano waiting to be practiced…oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

I deduct that this has been a dull and random entry…

The Little Joys of Life

Those of you who know my family understand why we have a ‘13 inch TV screen. Basically, because we hardly use it and it matters little to us, ok well, honestly…my Father is very pragmatic. Well, my Dad surprised us by purchasing a new one the other day. Get ready for shocking news………….it is has impressive ‘20 inch screen. I know, amazing. Despite the minuscule ‘7 inch difference….it is quite an improvement.

Now, special events, home movies, and just plain, well, movies, can be watched much more clearly! Ummm, maybe I should dig for more interesting posts….none the less, I consider a trivial item that brings joy, a little joy of life.

Revelations & Re-decorations

Well, sadly, summer is here, and seeing how this is the summer before Emilie leaves, and since I do share a room with my little sister, it was decided that I should move into her room. Painted a dark Strawberry Crush, her small abode was a cute little place, but not exactly my style. With a lot of work, my mother and I painted it a Woodland Mystery green and bought a black toil bedspread. Cute green pillows with black beaded trim were added, as well as a featured sitting chair in the corner. Here are a few before and after pictures.

Before

After

Well, lastly, the Revelations part in the title refers to some the the great new ideas for my room. My mother had the idea of painting a small portion of the wall (the part behind my door) with blackboard paint. Crazy? Maybe. Tacky? Maybe. Too weird? Quite possibly. However, I have decided to do it, after all whats the worst that could happen, right? In addition to that, we place a desk in my closet-to maximize room space.

All in all, it was a very successful renovation, and I am thoroughly pleased with my new room!

Words From the Wise

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen, not because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.

                                                                                              C.S. Lewis

How true this quote is.

Little Splashes of Summer…

Well, Summer has finally arrived and brought with it lots of heat. The events of the past weeks have been numerous, however, I have chosen to highlight a few very memorable moments.

Last week, we had the joy of celebrating 60 years of marriage between my Grandma and Grandpa! What a blessing.

After good company and home-made ice cream, we all played a delightful game of badminton, or attempted to on my part :-) . All in all, it was a great evening and such a joy to celebrate my Grandparents life together!

Last Thursday, the family headed to the pool! Being with cousins always makes for a spectacular day, however, I do wish I could say the same about the pool water….it was a tad chilly.
